5 Drugstore Face Brushes You Need

I love brushes as much as the next girl, ok maybe slightly more than the average person and I have accumulated quite the collection (but you can never have enough brushes right) ? I don't know what I was doing before I started using brushes to apply my makeup because they make makeup application so much better. Brushes are expensive, sometimes it's quite ridiculous how much a small brush can cost but the drugstore is definitely stepping up their brush game.

For this post I have put together my favourite affordable face brushes:

Real Technique brushes as a whole are great and super affordable. The buffing brush is part of their core set, there are 4 brushes all together. I love this brush for liquid foundation, and I have been  using it with MAC Face & Body because it allows me to build it up really nice. It applies foundation really well, it blends the foundation out seamlessly. The hairs on this brush are so soft and I haven't found it fall, even after I have washed it.

I got this brush from Ebay, it was dirt cheap I got 10 brushes for £13. I mainly got it for this brush because I have been eyeing up the Louise Young foundation brush for a while and this brush look really really similar but at the fraction of the price. I wasn't expecting the brushes to be fantastic but  the quality of these brushes is amazing. The brushes hairs are so soft and ideal for applying makeup and the handles are quite sturdy and I haven't had a problem with them. Back to the brush, it's a tapered brush so make applying foundation easier especially in the harder to reach areas. This brush has been making my base application super simple and really quick, it's magic (no lie).

This brush is another one from the core set, I don't really use it for concealing but I do love it for highlighter. It's the perfect shape and size for highlighting the tops of your cheeks and I do love me some highlighter. As I said before Real Technique brushes are super soft and amazing.

I love using cream blusher but they can be quite difficult to apply, this is where the stippling brush comes in. The stippling brush is the perfect brush to apply cream blush, it works by pushing the product onto your skin for that flawless look. I also use it for foundation, when I am going for that full coverage flawless look.

Everyone needs a good angle brush, I picked this one up from TKmaxx it was around £4. The hairs on this brush are so so soft, and I find it perfect for contouring. It fits into my the hollow of my cheeks perfectly and takes the effort out of contouring.

I love a big powder brush. All real technique brushes have really soft hairs and this one is no exception. I am not much of a powder girl but in the summer and when my skin is feeling slightly more oil, I need that extra help setting in my makeup. I love using this brush,it doesn't pick too much product and you can easily swept all over face in one go.

I am becoming one those crazy brush ladies, I have a couple of brushes I am eyeing up from Bobbi Brown and Nars that I ''need'' to pick up. Let me know what your favourite brushes are down below.

  1. I find that quite a lot of brushes you can buy from Ebay are surprisingly really good quality. I've already bought 2 sets (14 brushes) and I intend to expand my collection :D

  3. The buffing brush is one of my all time favorites for foundation too! I'm also starting to really like the MUFE kabuki brush for loose and pressed powder application.
