Hi guys,
I hope everyone is enjoying the extra long weekend, it's a sunny day in London today which is really great cos it has been raining for the last two days. Today's post is my skincare routine, I don't think my skincare routine is perfect but it's working for me at the moment (touch wood it stays that way). I rarely change up my skincare routine, if I find a product that works for me I stick with it. Which is kinda hard especially as I am a beauty blogger, I like to try different products but I am really scared because my skin is really reactive.
The Cleansers: my skincare routine is really simple because my skin is super sensitive and I am lazy cautious about the products that I put on my face. In the mornings, I like to cleanse with my favourite cleanser the REN EverCalm Gentle Cleansing Milk, I have mentioned it quite a bit on my blog before here & here. It is super gentle but it leaves my face feeling really clean without making it dry or irritated. It has helped to control my breakouts and maintain clear and smooth skin. In the evenings, I like to go in with the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, and massage it all over my face. I find that the Emma Hardie balm is really good at breaking down any makeup that is on my face even my eye makeup. I like to double cleanse in the evenings, just to make sure that my face is really clean, so I follow up with the REN cleansing milk, to get rid off any remaining makeup.
The Toners: I have been really getting into using toners at the moment, and I have really seen a difference in my skin. In the mornings after I have cleansed I put a little bit of the Origins Make a Difference Plus+ treatment lotion on a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face. The Origins toner is a hydrating toner, and I think it really has been helping to keep my face feel moistures and keep dry patches at bay. In the evenings, I like to use the Boots Botantic All Bright Cleansing toner (review), this is very similar to the Pixi Glow Tonic, they both work to make your complexion more clearer and brighter by getting rid of the dead skin cells. I have definitely noticed that my skin is much more brighter since I have started to use this toner.
The moisturisers:
In the mornings I have been trying using this Aloe Soothing Day Cream from The Body Shop. It leaves my face really smooth and soft and it's a great base for makeup. My favourite day moisturiser has to be the Origins GinZing (not in the photo) which I have run out of but will definitely be repurchasing.
My skin has been quite good lately but when I do breakout I like to use the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo on the areas where I have some spots. I find that the Effaclar Duo helps to bring down the spot very quickly and prevent it from completely developing to it's ugly big self and leaving a mark.
In the evening I like to use facial oils, I am a big fan of oils and I have notice the biggest difference to my skin since I have started to use oils. I am currently using the Vitamin E overnight serum in oil from The Body Shop. I really like the consistency of this serum, it's really light and immediately absorbs into the skin so you don't have that oily feeling on your skin. I haven't been using it for long to notice any big effects on my skin but it hasn't broken me out which is a good thing and I always find that my skin is really smooth and much more brighter in the mornings after I have used this.
I really like reading about what products others are using in their skincare routine and I hope that you enjoyed my post. Not everything I will use will work in the same for everyone but let me know if you are using any of the products I have mentioned.
So interesting to hear about your skincare routine! (I followed the link from your most recent post). I was just wondering if you apply toner in the evening over your moisturiser or before?
