Breakout Skincare Routine: REN EverCalm Gentle Cleansing Milk & La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

what to use to help acne and blemishes on the skin

As of late, my skin has been really acting up and it seems like I have new blemish almost every day. I don't know, what's causing the breakout but I thought it was time I take a step back and look at my skincare routine. My skincare routine was a little complicated to say the least, I decided to cut back and make rely simple especially through this breakout period.

I picked up the REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk, after using a small sample and really liking the way it made my skin feel. I find that if you have super sensitive skin, this cleanser is made for you. It does any amazing job at calming the skin down and after every use I feel like I have new skin because it's not red or irriated. The consistency of this cleanser makes it absolutely luxurious to massage into your skin, it comes out in a thick creamy texture which emulsifies as you make contact with the skin. I wash it off with a wash cloth and I don't find that it leaves any oily residue but just feeling really clean and hydrated.

A new addition to my routine is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo*. You probably almost instantly recognise this product, it's some what of a holy trial product in the beauty blogger community. A lot of bloggers suggest that this product is one of the main catalyst for maintain clear skin. I was little wary about introducing a new product into my skin because it was all levels of cray at the moment but I wanted to see what the hype was all about. The Effaclar Duo is a moisturiser  targeted at oily blemish prone skin, it works to control and prevent blemishes with anti-inflammatory (Niacin-amide) and gentle exfoliating ingredients (LHA and Salicylic Acid). I have really noticed a difference in my skin, since I have included this in my routine. I apply a small amount all over my face both in the morning and evening time and because it is really lightweight it hasn't clogged up my pores and it's a perfect base for my makeup in the mornings. I was afraid it might dry up my skin because it's targeted at individuals with oily skin but I haven't had any problems with that.

Both the REN cleansing milk and the Effaclar Duo have really helped my skin and I have definitely noticed a huge difference in the appearance of skin since the introduction of the two products. Let me know what your go to products are when your skin is acting up?
