Summer MakeUp That Lasts In The Heat

revlon maybelline drugstore foundation powder tips for summer makeup

How good has the weather been lately? I love the summer, sunny days just make me feel so good. One thing I don't like about the hot sweaty weather is the fact that make up doesn't seem to last longer than 5 minutes (slight exaggeration). I have been doing a couple things to ensure that make up lasts longer during this heat wave (supposedly) we are having in the UK.

I don't normally put on primer but if I want my makeup to last and especially on a hot day, using a primer is a must. I love using the Pixi Poreless & Flawless primer, it's very lightweight and it doesn't have that silicone feeling that you can get with other primers. It creates a smooth, non sticky (the last thing you need on a hot day) base for my makeup to go on. I find that my makeup does last longer whenever I use this primer and my finish look seems to be more put together and flawless. My go to foundation of the moment has been the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, I think it's perfect for the summer because it's really lightweight and you don't feel it on your skin, nothing worse than heavy foundation on a hot and sweaty day. I love the finish it's not matte or overly dewy it's a nice in between and it's really affordable. For concealer, I have been using the Natural Concealer from KIKO in 07 to concealer my dark circles. I find that this is perfect for that because it's really orange toned, so it does an awesome job at correcting. To go on top of that I have been using a little bit of the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer, to make it look natural and for any blemishes I have around my face.

I am all about the highlighter and summer is the perfect time to paint your face with highlighter. I have been mixing a little of the Revlon PhotoReady SkinLight Face Illuminator in peach light, it give me that all over healthy dewy finish. The revlon highlighter is very lightweight and a has beautiful peach golden sheen (works really nicely with my skin tone) rather than large chancy shimmery pieces.

Hot weather means cream blusher in my makeup routine. They look amazing on the skin and they last longer as well (win win). I love how orange tones makeup looks against my skin tone, so one of my favourite cream blushers is this beautiful orange blusher from Revlon. I use a stippling brush to apply it, and it goes ons really nicely. This blush is quite pigmented, just a light hand will give you a beautiful orange toned flush. To set my makeup, I have been reaching for this Make Up Forever HD Micro Finish Powder (the packaging, so cute). I am not much of a powder girl, because my skin is normally on the drier side but even I am prone to a little extra shine on the T-zone during the summer. This product is super fine, it doesn't settling on to any dry patches and doesn't leave you looking powdery.

I am really simple when it comes to my make up and especially more in the summer who has time to faff around with makeup in the mornings? So with my eye makeup, I go in with a little cream shadow like the Maybelline 24 Hr Colour Tattoo in on and on bronze. Not only is the colour absolutely beautiful, it's light bronzy shade that looks beautiful on everyone but it lasts extremely well there is no budging this product. One thing I am never lazy with is mascara, my lashes need all the help they can get.  At the moment, I have been loving the MaxFactor False Lash Effect mascara, my goodness this stuff is amazing it really lengthens and separates my lashes. I don't know why I didn't pick it up sooner and people  have been raving about for yonks.

For eyebrows I have been testing out this new (might not be a new release just new to me) Makeup Revolution Dual Ultra BrowArch Eyebrow pencil, It has a pencil on one end and a felt tip end. I never thought I would like using a felt tip for my brows but it's really good actually. The tip is very fine and I like that you can create precise hair like strokes which look really natural. I don't have to do much with my brows they are kinda big but I do have the odd areas where I do need to fill in and a little definition to my arch makes them look good. If you are looking for a decent budget eyebrow pencil option then totally check out this one Makeup Revolution One.

Now onto my favourite part of my makeup routine, the lip products. Currently I have been wearing Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter in Tutti Fruitt (all the time), it's such a beautiful orange toned coral. It looks kinda scary in the bullet, really bold but it doesn't come across like that on the lips. It's a really wearable orange and it looks super pretty. The Revlon lip butters are super easy to apply, and the perfect hand bag lipstick.

Wow this was a long post, I hope you have found it helpful. Let me know what things you have been doing to make sure your makeup lasts.
