90s REVIVAL: BROWN LIPSTICKS

kylie jenner makeup lip tutorial get kylie jenner

The 90s are making a comeback in a big way, I don't know about you but I love the 90s. My favourite beauty aspect of this 90s revival is definitely the brown lipstick. For me I find pulling off a nude really difficult because my lips are quite pigmented and it just makes me look sick. Also Kylie Jenner has made the 90s pout really popular, it seems like everyone is trying to recreate that Kylie Jenner Lip, I have to admit it looks pretty good.

I  have been reaching for this lipstick nearly everyday, it has definitely become an everyday staple and I never leave the house without it. It is an amazing medium brown nude shade that works really well with all skin tones especially those with darker skin tones. It is a matte finish but I don't find it drying at all. I did want to get MAC Velvet Teddy but it was slightly on the paler side for me and this one just worked better with my skin tone.

I will admit my favourite thing about this lipstick has to be the click in the opening mechanism, so classy and so so satisfying. Now on to the colour this is a beautiful deep brown berry colour, which is so great for this time of year. It does have some shimmer, which is great for adding that something extra to your look and also creating the illusion of bigger lips. But if like you are not the biggest fan of shimmer, I wouldn't worry too much because it a very subtle shimmer and it doesn't transfer to much on the lips.

Out of the three this one is more on the pink side, it's a pretty brown based pink. You could say that it is a dupe for the MAC velvet teddy, its very similar. I love the finish of this lipstick, moisturising satin finish which is really comfortable and easy to wear. The Revlon lustre lipstick range is definitely one of the best from the drugstore and I would recommend everyone check it out.

This is definitely one of my favourite lipstick trends of all time (I think) and my will be rocking it (did I just said rocking it oh god) all year long. My favourite is definitely MAC taupe such a easy colour to wear but the Chanel one is luxury.

  1. These look amazing! I've been loving the 90's lip look recently (cheers Kylie Jenner!). I've been using a lipliner by itself and might give one of these a go instead!

  2. I have to take a look at the Mac lipsticks you mentioned! I'll have a similar post in the end of the month, also featuring a similar Chanel shade! In autumn, these are the shades I choose the most, I feel that they compliment my skin tone more than everything else!
