BareMineral Foundation |
The BareMineral foundation, comes into two versions the original and the matte. I have both versions, I don't think there is much difference between the two. The original version has more of a luminous finish, and the matte one is obviously more matte. Obviously if you have oily skin, I would recommend the matte version but if not it really doesn't matter the original isn't too dewy.
At the moment I am using two shades, only because I purchased the wrong shade which happens when you buy a foundation online. But the foundation is really easy to use and it applies on the skin smoothly without it looking powdery or feeling heavy because the powder is so finely milled. I was really surprised that I could get quite good coverage from it. Also it lasted pretty well throughout the day, there was no need to touch up which is awesome.
I either use a kabuki brush or my Real Technique Buffing brush which works really well, with this foundation and creates a flawless finish. I thought it would be quite messy to work with, but it's ok actually (if I can work with it, then anyone can). I like this foundation for especially for days where I don't want to wear a lot of makeup because it gives you decent coverage but it doesn't feel like makeup.
I never thought I would like a mineral foundation but I have to say I am definitely leaning towards this foundation more and more. I really want to try out more mineral foundations, and the Laura Mercier mineral foundation looks very appealing. I have this feeling that I am missing something out and I really don't know what. It's so annoying, why won't it come to me. Anyways let me what you think of mineral foundations and which ones you would recommend.

I haven't used Bare Mineral Foundation in a while actually, but this post reminds me of how lovely they are. I love the fact that they come in a powder form and feels like on the skin. :)

I've never usually used powder foundation but seems like this one is worth a try!

Everyone raves about it, but still I haven't tried it... I have blemishes in general and also I'm not a fan of powders... But I'll give in eventually!

I used to love BareMinerals foundations (I own three of them!) but my skin completely changed last year when I went from having combination/oily skin to really dry, dehydrated skin. i find that it just doesn't work as well on dry skin because it tends to stick to the dry areas of my face. But that could just be me and I'd certainly encourage people to try their stuff out because I was a huge fan.

I have this foundation and I agree--not much difference between the matte and original. I personally like the original because I can find the best shade match but both is great for summertime or lazy days. Never have to worry about unblended streaks of foundation.
ReplyDeleteI love BareMinerals, it's just really pricey! Great post x

I've never really tried mineral foundations much, like you I'm skeptical that they would provide much coverage! I have a MAC mineral powder and don't find it covers anything really, but I do love Bare Minerals products so I'd definitely like to give this a try at the least!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to Best of Beauty! xo
The coverage isn't greta but you can build it and it does give quite good coverage.
