Top Drugstore Foundations

rimmel match perfection review, loreal true match review show good face review
Hi guys,
Summer is finally here, I feel like I talk about it all year long and when it finally gets here I am still talking about it. I don't really wear foundation and not because my skin is great far from it but I don't really like how it feels on my skin. Another problem I have with foundations is colour matching, especially with drugstore foundation I can't seem to ever find my colour. However there are 3 foundations from the drugstore which have certainly changed my opinion of foundations.

I can't remember why I picked this foundation up, but it was on offer (maybe it was that) and I decided at the moment I needed a new foundation. I picked up the shade Bronze 402 , which is the darkest in the range. The colour range is not great and especially for those with darker skin tones. This colour just about works for me and when I am tanned I definitely won't be able to wear it. The match perfection foundation is one of those foundations that adapts to your skin tone, because it uses "Advanced Smart Tone Technology".  I don't know if this smart technology really works but I don't find that colour turns ashy like with most drugstore foundations. The coverage of this foundation is actually good, and you can definitely build it up without it looking cakey. The consistency of this foundation is thin, which makes it super easy to blend and wearable especially as the weather becomes quite hot (plus it has an SPF of 18). I love the finish it's slightly more on the dewy side but it's nothing over the top, I still use a little powder on the T-Zone because I can get oily on the old nose area.

Soap & Glory Show Good Face 2-in-1 Foundation and Primer:                                                  This is the sheerest foundation out of the three, definitely for those good skin days (which I rarely see these days). The fact that it's sheer means that the consistency is super thin, which makes it easy to blend into the skin and it's hardly detectable. The finish of this foundation is super dewy, super super dewy almost glittery not glittery illuminating that is a better word. I love a good dewy finish and with this foundation you can certainly miss out the highlighting step in your routine. If you prefer a matte finish this is not the foundation for you but if you love the glow fact this is right up your street (check out my favourite highlighters here).

The first drugstore foundation with a perfect (almost perfect) colour match for me. I have the colour caramel N6, and it makes me happy (I am a really sad person). The consistency of this foundation is quite thin, which makes it really nice for the summer because it's lightweight. I found the application really easy and it has slightly more coverage than the other two foundations in this post. Lightweight and more coverage means that it's perfect for those of us who need slightly more coverage but don't want to wear or feel like they are wearing loads of foundation.

top summer foundation from the drugstore affordable foundations
Left - Right Loreal True Match, Rimmel Match Perfection, Soap & Glory Show Good Face.
I would definitely recommend the Rimmel and Loreal foundations, the quality of these foundations are on par with more high end foundations. Which is crazy because they are so affordable and under ten pounds each. Let me know which drugstore foundations are your favourites.

  1. I really want to try the Loreal one as I have heard good things in the past. I currently use Rimmel wake me up, which I LOVE! I only just started using it as I am usually really sensitive to Rimmel products so usually avoid them.

    Great post!

  2. My favourite drugstore foundation is the L'Oreal True Match Lumi. Unfortunately the original formula didn't work out for me. :( I'm curious to try Rimmel foundations now though! I've heard really good things about them.

  5. I really want to try this Rimmel foundation. Bourjois Healthy Mix NEEDS to be added to this list! It's definitely up there with Clinique and Chanel foundations and costs under a tenner! (I think) I absolutely love it xx

  9. I haven't used any of these, but I'm almost scared to! I got lucky and found a foundation that works for my skin (I think I'm the palest person I know, so the number on mine is 001). Drug store too. I might look into these eventually. I like the sound of Soap & Glory!
